Olweus Bully Program

On Tuesday, October 25th, we had a school wide kickoff assembly for our newest program...Olweus Bully Program. It was a high energy and unforgettable unity by everyone in the school. We watched videos featuring the staff that demonstrated what bullying can look like and strategies to help report the situations. We sang "Lean on Me" together and did a school wide cheer. This kickoff helped us to initiate our class meetings which will take place every Wednesday from 9:05-9:45. We will come together to talk about current issues in our classroom or in the news, and to learn the components of the Olweus Bully Program. Our first class meeting was a huge success. I can't wait for next week to spend this invaluable time talking about things that affect our lives on a daily basis. Ask your fifth grader about the class meeting today.
