Thank you to the North Strabane and Canonsburg Fire Departments for coming in today to discuss with us the importance of fire safety!
The fireman showed us their equipment and demonstrated how it keeps them safe and some of the tools that they use in a fire emergency.
We watched a video that showed how quickly a fire can spread and practiced an important saying; "Get out and stay out!" The students were also instructed to go home and check the batteries in their smoke detectors. If no smoke detectors are in the home or are not working properly, the students were instructed to call the non-emergency number and the fire department will donate new smoke detectors to their home.
