Motion and Design Unit has begun!!!!!!! The students on Team Barracuda have been busy designing vehicles in science class using K-Nex. The challenge was given to groups of students to create a vehicle in 20 minutes and test to be sure it would travel in a straight path using the power of our index finger for a distance of 100 centimeters. The pictures show the creation, pretesting, and testing of the challenge. We then created technical drawings of our vehicles to share with others if they wished to create our vehicle. We will be deconstructing the vehicles and making control cars to begin testing weight, mass and force. The room is buzzing with ideas that are being considered, tested and then developed. It is not always easy working in teams, but we are practicing our compromising skills and building upon each others thoughts. Science class has been filled with smiles and satisfaction through discovery learning. Keep up the great team work Team Barracuda!!!!!
