Ten Mile Walking Club

I am so excited to share this great news with everyone. For the past 10 days in exploratory, we have been walking. When it is nice, we go outside. We walk down the hill to Borland Manor, walk around their parking lot, walk back up the hill, and around our school 2 -3 times. In case of rain, we walk the halls of the school. It takes about 4 times upstairs, 4 times downstairs, and about 8 laps around the foyer to create a little over a mile. We have set a goal for ourselves to walk at least 1 mile everyday. We have worn a pedometer that measures our calories burned, the steps we take, the time it takes us, and of course the distance. We have been successful in our adventure. We calculated a total of 10.438 miles in ten days. As a reward, the students received a certificate, a CM water bottle, and listened to "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang. We will switch exploratories tomorrow and enjoy computer lab activities with Mrs. Kelemen for 10 days. Way to go Room 110. (Mrs. Reda's Room will strive for the same goals when they reach walking exploratory in the exploratory rotation.)
